The Jacarini Finch (Volatina Jacarina)

This web site has been created to share information about the interesting and amusing characteristics
of this fascinating finch. This site contains general information and specific information gathered from breeders within Australia with many years experience of breeding this bird in Australia. The Jacarini is not as secretive as sometimes reported in may articles written about this finch. From my personal experiences I have found the Jacarini to be a very friendly bird to have in my aviary.

The Jacarini is also known as the * Blue-back Grassquit * Glossy Grassquit.
